Tampa Bay’s Rug Specialists

Rug Cleaning & Restoration for Tampa Bay Homes

Persian, oriental, wool and silk — washed by hand, repaired by weavers.

Gulf Coast living is rough on textiles. Salt air, ninety-percent humidity, and the occasional foot of storm water do things to a rug that a rented carpet machine will never undo. We take rugs back to a controlled wash floor, treat each fiber on its own terms, and bring them home dry, bright, and stable.

  • Hand-washed, never machine-scrubbed

Fine Rug Care

One Rug at a Time, Matched to Its Fiber

A hand-knotted Tabriz and a polypropylene flatweave from a big-box store are not the same object, and they should never meet the same brush. Vegetable dyes bleed. Silk scorches under heat. Cotton foundations shrink if they are pulled out of the wash wet and dried in a hurry. Guessing is how rugs get ruined.

So nothing gets cleaned here until it has been looked over: fiber content, dye stability, weave construction, backing, prior repairs, and whatever the last twelve Florida summers left behind. Only then do we choose a wash. That inspection is free, it happens before you commit to anything, and if a rug is not worth the cost of cleaning we will tell you so.

Fiber-Matched Washing

Wool, silk, cotton, jute and synthetics each get their own water temperature, pH and agitation.

Repairs & Reweaving

Chewed corners, unravelled fringe, moth holes and split foundations rebuilt by hand.

Mildew & Odor Control

Humidity-driven musty smells and surface mold treated at the root, not perfumed over.

Free Pick-Up & Delivery

We collect and return across Hillsborough and Pinellas at no charge. You never lift a roll.

What We Do

Our Services

Everything a rug might need — washing, structural repair, and disaster recovery — handled in one shop by the same people.

Rug Cleaning

Full immersion hand-washing for Persian, oriental, wool, silk, cotton and modern synthetic rugs. Dry soil is beaten out first, then the rug is washed, flushed clean of detergent, and dried flat under moving air so nothing warps or sours.

Repair & Restoration

Fringe replacement, edge binding, moth damage, pet destruction, worn pile and missing corners. We reweave with matched wool and matched knot counts so the fix disappears into the field instead of announcing itself.

Repair services

Storm & Flood Recovery

Rugs soaked by surge, a failed roof, or a burst line need decontamination, not just drying. We extract, flush the contamination out, treat for mold, and dry under controlled airflow — often saving rugs an insurance adjuster wrote off.

The Florida Problem

What the Gulf Coast Does to a Rug

Rug care advice written for a dry inland climate does not transfer to Tampa Bay. Our air carries moisture and salt nearly year-round, and a wool rug is a sponge that happens to be beautiful. The damage builds quietly, then shows up all at once.

  • Trapped humidity. Wool holds water without feeling wet. Left in a closed-up house or under a rug pad on tile, it turns musty and eventually grows mold in the foundation where you cannot see it.
  • Salt air. In waterfront homes on Davis Islands, Clearwater Beach or Apollo Beach, airborne salt settles into the pile, attracts moisture, and grinds at the fibers every time someone walks across it.
  • Sand and shell grit. Fine quartz sand tracked in from the beach sinks to the base of the pile and acts like sandpaper against the knots.
  • Storm water. Between June and November, one bad afternoon can put standing water on a rug that took a family thirty years to acquire.

Flood & Storm Water Rug Restoration

When water comes into a Tampa Bay home it is rarely clean water. Surge pushes in bay silt and whatever was in the street. A backed-up drain brings bacteria. Even a clean supply line becomes a contamination problem after forty-eight hours in Florida heat, because that is roughly how long it takes for mold to establish itself in a damp wool foundation.

Fast, thorough action saves rugs that look like total losses. We pick up soaked rugs the same week where our schedule allows, extract the water, flush the contaminants completely out of the pile rather than sealing them in, apply an antimicrobial treatment, and dry the rug flat under forced air with the moisture content monitored to the end. We document condition throughout, which is what your insurance carrier will want to see.

  • Same-week pick-up during storm events, schedule permitting
  • Full-immersion decontamination flush, not surface drying
  • Antimicrobial and deodorization treatment
  • Controlled flat drying with monitored moisture readings
  • Dye-bleed correction and reweaving of rotted areas
  • Photo documentation for insurance claims
